Leading pan-European mid-market private equity firm with $12bn+ in assets under management begins onboarding Deal Engine to strengthen early-stage sourcing, prioritization and AI readiness.

LONDON, UK, January 2026: Deal Engine (formerly Filament Syfter), the category-defining dealmaking data engine for private markets, today announced that a UK top 10 private equity firm has begun onboarding the platform as part of a multi-year agreement.

The firm, a leading pan-European mid-market investor, is adopting Deal Engine to support a more systematic, continuously prioritized approach to deal identification across its full investable universe, while ensuring existing workflows and DealCloud CRM usage remain central to day-to-day dealmaking. 

Enabling earlier, higher-quality deal engagement 

The firm’s primary objective is to identify and engage with the strongest investment opportunities as early as possible, building deeper founder relationships and increasing access to bilateral situations. 

Deal Engine will enable the firm to: 

  • Continuously rate and re-rate companies across its top-of-funnel universe 
  • Deploy proprietary models across current and historical CRM opportunities

  • Optimize prioritization across active deals, historic opportunities and longer-term targets 
  • Systematically monitor the right triggers to engage companies with relevance and context 

By connecting internal data and selected external sources into a single integrated data environment, Deal Engine will support a continuously evolving view of opportunity quality, rather than static lists or point-in-time scoring. 

Building a foundation for future AI capabilities 

Beyond immediate sourcing and prioritization improvements, the engagement is designed to establish a long-term foundation for GenAI and agent-based workflows across the firm. 

At a firm level, the goals include: 

  • Working on the best targets earlier to improve deal quality and outcomes 
  • Enabling value from AI-driven insight across all users, not just specialist teams 
  • Creating an AI-ready operating model that can evolve alongside the firm’s strategy 

Onboarding began this month and will be delivered in phases, starting with platform launch and CRM integration, followed by strategy-specific configuration and optimization. 

This engagement marks the first new client onboarding for Deal Engine since launch, reflecting growing demand from private equity firms for always-on, firm-owned intelligence infrastructure rather than standalone sourcing tools.
